Summary: DSpace Multi-lingual Metadata

Initial Comment:
his patch has been performed against DSpace 1.4.2 patched with I18N
configurable multilingualism support patch
(http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1450491&group_id=19984&atid=319984)
i18n_Revision1880_v7 and should work (not tested) also with 1.5.

It displays next to each metadata element, during the submit-metadata phase, a
pull down menu of languages that is stored as the language qualifier for each
metadata field.
The language list and its association with metadata fields are configurable
through input-forms.xml. The latter has been treated as backwards-compatible,
i.e. using its original version works as before (in-case the multi-lingual
metadata functionality is unwanted).

The metadata language qualifications also appear in the "review" phase.

Finally, for the "type" field, multiple values, one for each language, can be
now configured in input-forms.xml and stored at simultaneously.

The patch in action can be seen here:

Message:
Zip works for me. Perhaps you can try another uncompress software? (e.g.
winrar?) It contains a single text file I18N_metadata that can be used as a
patch against DSpace 1.4.2. It is neccessary first to have the german
multilingualism patch.
If there is still a problem I could mail the file to you directly.

Regards,
Dimitrios
