I tried this on the tech mailing list but without any joy so I am narrowing it
down. I have a scenario that is going to involve having items mapped to more
than one collection and possibly being removed from collections. The notion of
an owning collection just doesn't apply. Does anyone know why we have it ?
Could it be removed perhaps in 2.0 ?

Cheers, Robin.

Subject: Owning_collection ?

I have a daft question, why does Dspace have the concept of an owning
collection ? Why not just allow an item to be mapped to multiple collections,
or none for that matter. I often have to move items from one collection to
another by editing the database and it always stikes me as unnecessary. What am
I missing ?

Cheers, Robin.
