Ok, so if we have kept all the fixes in sync between the 1.6 branch and
the trunk we only need to update the development version in the POMs.
This should be a simple task but trying to run (on a clean trunk checkout)
mvn -e --batch-mode release:update-versions -DdevelopmentVersion=1.7.0-SNAPSHOT
I get this exception:
