Updating groups performs badly with a large number of groups.

Group.update() calls rethinkGroupCache() which deletes and rebuilds
group2groupcache from scratch in some circumstances. This is fine if you have a
small number of groups but we have one installation with 10000 approx groups.
We need a more scaleable solution.
