Jessica Lindholm commented on DS-914:
-------------------------------------
It is much desired by metadata librarians at my university and I have been
pulling my hair to try and fix the rights to do this. For instance, in this
step librarians assist students in converting their essays Word-files to PDF
and also help researchers to add a preface to their open access articles (as
demanded by e.g. Elsevier, Springer etc). One vote from Malmö university on
1.7.2 XMLUI!
> Allowing Metadata editors to remove/change files during the workflow

> Key: DS-914

> Project: DSpace
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: XMLUI
> Affects Versions: 1.6.0, 1.6.1, 1.6.2, 1.7.0, 1.7.1
> Reporter: Bram Luyten (@mire)
>
> Currently, metadata editors can not alter the files during the workflow
> operations. The only options are to reject submissions, allowing the
> submitter to change the files, or approving them and doing the edits after
> approval.
> Editors should be able to change the files. Alternatively, there could be a
> config option to determine whether they should be able to do this.
> I've heard this request from a few people in the meanwhile and hope they will
> chime in here. In terms of development work this should take close to no time
> to implement.
