Hi Hardy, are you using the Mirage theme ? If you look at the generated html 
you will see the span element actually wraps the entire metadata table, so 
hovering anywhere over that causes the Coins data to be displayed. Have a look 
at http://demo.dspace.org/xmlui/handle/10673/44370?show=full for an example.

However, it appears it is caused by the span element being empty, the Cocoon 
XSL transform seems to have a problem with that. I have added a space character 
as a value for the span (see Coins-2.patch) and it seems to have resolved the 
problem so I've commited the patch.

To be honest I'm not convinced that we have implemented the Coins spec 
correctly but I'll raise another Jira for that.
