Based on the information you provided, it sounds like you may just need to
Rebuild DSpace & Redeploy. Any changes to Java classes require that you
re-compile DSpace and redeploy your JSPUI web application. For instructions

If you require additional help with using DSpace or have more questions, please
ask them to the mailing list above and we will attempt to get back to you as
soon as possible.
I'm closing this ticket it sounds like this is not a bug within the DSpace
software itself.
