In troubleshooting an NPE that keeps cropping up whenever I attempt to run an
itemupdate, I was a bit frustrated trying to locate the full stack trace for
the error. It wasn't visible in dspace.log or catalina.out. Tim Donohue found
that the problem was with the exception handling in
DSpace/dspace-api/src/main/java/org/dspace/app/itemupdate/ItemUpdate.java. I
will attach a patch file by tomorrow, as soon as I confirm it is working.
