Ivan Masár created DS-1261:
------------------------------
Summary: remember item view type in session variables
Key: DS-1261
URL: https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS-1261
Project: DSpace
Issue Type: Improvement
Reporter: Ivan Masár
This is an idea for an improvement.
Currently, a user browsing a repository gets the summary view of an item. If he
wants to see all metadata, he has to click a link to switch to the full view.
When he always wants to see the full item view (e.g. an editor reviewing all
records), he always has to click 1x extra per item.
My suggestion is to remember the last view in session variables. So if you
click on full view, full view will be displayed for all subsequent items in
your session until you switch back to summary view or log off.
A change to the UI would be also suitable - render the view type links as tabs
instead. This helps you visualize which view you're currently using, so you
won't be confused when view type is remembered.
