The problem I experienced was a result of the clamav configuration
value for time-out, which was too short at 120 msec. For setups
where clamav is on a separate server, this value will probably need
to be larger and may depend on a variety of local conditions.

I will amend the wiki to note this.

    Hi Bill,

I'm not sure if this will resolve your issue or not. But, I know that
the ClamScan Curation Task requires that ClamAV be configured to
    use TCP
sockets (which I don't think it does by default). This is mentioned
very briefly in the DSpace docs here:

https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC18/Curation+System#CurationSystem-SetuptheservicefromtheClamAVdocumentation.

That error on line 301 of ClamScan.java seems to imply that it's
    unable
to communicate with the TCP socket. I admit, that's just a
    guess...I'm
not 100% familiar with this area of the code.
