this sounds like interesting work! Do you still have this developer who can
write code for such a feature?
I have currently marked this ticket as "Volunteer needed", just awaiting to
assign it to your developer.
Is your vision to story any metadata translations in the item metadata or to
reference them on the fly somehow?
