Thanks for responding, Tim :). I'm using the XMLUI on DSpace 4.0. I've been hesitant to touch the production instance, but I have tried deleting the exact same items on a backup instance. When I use my account (which is just in Anonymous, Administrators, and a few collections via Anonymous), I can delete the items fine (aside from some warnings in the logs). However, it appears that there are at least 2 administrators in the production instance who are being shown this "insufficient privileges" message. I figure it has to be permissions for other collections prompting these messages. After further investigation, I have noticed that the key administrator (who raised the issue) belongs to groups associated with the collections that housed the items that she was trying to delete. First collection: COLLECTION_35_WORKFLOW_STEP_2 COLLECTION_612_SUBMIT (via group: COLLECTION_35_WORKFLOW_STEP_2) Second collection: COLLECTION_175_WORKFLOW_STEP_2 COLLECTION_175_WRITE (via group: NAMED_GROUP) -- As a short term solution, I've thought about removing the administrator all groups besides Anonymous or Administrator, but if I recall correctly...one might be dynamically added to groups when adding a collection or submitting to a collection? I suppose I will have to do more testing...but I thought I would raise it here as I imagine others might be having similar permissions issues...
