Hi there,

The source file for these pieces lives at 
[dspace-source]\dspace-xmlui\dspace-xmlui-webapp\src\main\webapp\i18n\messages.xml.

For customizations, it recommended that you make a copy of that file to 
[dspace-source]\dspace\modules\xmlui\src\main\webapp\i18n\messages.xml (the 
same tree you'll be using for your customized themes.)

After changes, you'll need to do the complete build and deploy routine.
