DC supports both http://dublincore.org/documents/dcmi-terms/#ses-ISO639-3

DSpace doesn't support data types (yet), so either of these specifications
should be ok.

DSpace will only support the the iso 8601 for  date fields. Discovery may
have a challenge parsing the date if you use otherwise.
