Hi Akinyi,

DSpace is a web-based application, so in order to run it, you'll have to
install it alongside a database and web server.

The installation instructions are available online at:
https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC18/Installation

In addition, since you are new to DSpace, you may wish to read through
the DSpace system manual in general. It's available online at:
https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC18/DSpace+1.8+Documentation

There should also be a README in the main folder that you unzipped which
links you to the PDF version of this manual which should be under the
follow folder:
dspace/docs/DSpace-Manual.pdf
