I have a brand-new DSpace installation -- and I don't know how to get
started.

Let's say that I have a book (well, actually, I've got thousands of them
but let's just do one), an actual book. It has a title, an author, a
publisher, a date of publication, a date of acquisition, a cost, a
subject. It may also have an illustrator, perhaps a printer, maybe a few
other details. I may have some keywords. No metadata, no electronic
record, just a book.

And let's say that I've gotten myself so confused that I don't know
where to start.

Is there a DSpace for Dummies? Is there something that says, here,
goofball, do this first, then do this, then do something else, then type
your book details and hit enter (or click OK)?

I've hit a brick wall and I'm just thrashing and I'd really appreciate a
little guidance (been reading the manual, been reading other
documentation and none of it is making any sense -- I don't have to deal
with any institutional stuff, that's all done, I just need to know learn
how to actually use the thing and any help or guidance would be deeply
appreciated.

A riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma but that's my story and I'm
stickin' to it.
