Hello, I am a librarian/archivist at a small (~1100FTE) private liberal arts college. My director and I have been exploring institutional repository options, and have settled on DSpace for a variety of reasons. Neither of us is capable of running this platform ourselves, but we have enlisted the aid of the advanced programming class from the computer science area, as a mutually beneficial project. As we have been developing this project, I have contacted a number of similar-sized institutions running DSpace repositories, and all of them have told me they outsource to varying degrees.
I would be very interested in hearing the experiences of self-hosting institutions roughly our size. Are there any out there? Thank you, Meredith --- Meredith Sommers, MLIS Information Resources Librarian/College Archivist P. H.
