The Agricultural Information Management Standards (AIMS) Community [1] is 
pleased to announce a new webinar entitled “COAR: Enhancing research visibility 
through Open Access repositories" [2]. The session will take place on the 03rd 
of April 2014 – 16:00 Rome Time [3] and will be presented by Kathleen Shearer, 
Executive Director, Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR) and 
Research Associate with CARL and RDC [4].

ABOUT THE WEBINAR

The webinar will present COAR [5] and its activities in support of the 
development of a global network of repositories. COAR is an association of 
repository initiatives with a membership of over 100 institutions worldwide 
from 35 countries in 4 continents.

The objective of this webinar is to provide an overview of COAR and its 
activities in support of the development of a global network of repositories. 
The vision of COAR is to build a seamless knowledge infrastructure through a 
global Open Access repository network. COAR pursues its vision through an 
active community of members engaged in working and interest groups, advocacy 
activities, and training opportunities. The webinar will showcase the work of 
COAR, the benefits of being part of the organization, collaborative activities, 
and achievements of COAR.

The webinar addresses libraries interested in open access, librarians, 
(agricultural) researchers, information management specialists, software 
developers, (agricultural) journal editors, related data providers and other 
interested people.
