Hi Tim, Thanks for your response. I realized after I submitted my question that I sent it to the wrong list. I deleted the post from google groups, but it hangs around in emails which can't be retracted. I've since asked my question to the right person.

DSpace doesn't have a concept of "spaces". It does however support a hierarchy of Communities and Collections. Are you asking how you can create a new Community or Collection in your own local DSpace? Or are you talking about something else?
