Hello, in the 'dri:pageMeta' you will only find information about the displayed document, not about the item's metadata (cf. https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC6x/DRI+Schema+Reference#DRISchemaReference-pageMeta)
In 'item-view.xsl' you can directly select metadata values from the 'dim:field' of item's metadata mets.xml ([dspace-url]/metadata/handle/[...]/mets.xml). Take a look at the xsl:templates used there.
