Thank you, Mark That was a good lesson. My Tomcat username is "tomcat8" and I found root group/owner scattered around the /dspace/assetstore directories. I re-assigned recursively all the directories within 'assetstore' with the command *chown -R tomcat8:tomcat8 /dspace/assetstore*
