Hi,

I have done the DSpace upgradation from 1.4 to 1.4.2, the latest one.
I just followed the same steps as given the doc file to upgrade.
Is this enough or do i have to apply few patches with this.
Becos after upgrading i didn't find some of the new features like
Link to admin area in the navigation bar when logged in as an administrator.

If i have to apply the patches for this. can anybody explain how to do that.

So I want to know, just downloading the latest source and following the
upgrade steps given
in document is enough or do we have to apply patches.

As I am a recent user of DSpace, i don't know much abt applying patches.
Explain me that also.

one more doubt how can we come to know that we have upgraded to latest
version or
from the webui, how to know which DSpace version are we using.

Thanks and Regards,
Thiru...

Jim,

Useful info. I've linked to the list of sysops from

http://wiki.dspace.org/index.php/DSpace_Wiki:Protected_page#Getting_Permission_to_Edit_Pages

I couldn't figure out how to do this within internal wiki [[ ]] markup
(due
to the &group=sysop) so it looks like an external link []. Please fix this
if you know how.

The larger issue of the lockdown--and whether to install a
captcha--remains.
Robert, is this sufficient documentation for now? Or what else would you
recommend?

Is it possible to use the dspace handle server to provide handles for
another application?

I would like for my dspace 1.4.1 handle server to provide and resolve
handles for a different application currently under development.

At this time, the log output I'm getting is:

Hi Thiru,

The line of code I gave you below is incorrect it is missing quotes. A
single line of code and I messed it up....duh.
The correct line is:
props.put("mail.smtp.port", "587");

Secondly, as Richard suggested I have posted this as a patch. To make
future upgrades easier you may want to implement the patch instead of the
single line of code I gave you.

The patch is here:

http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1720105&group_id=19984&atid=319984

Have a good day,
Kyle
