This is didn't realize.  I did try searching exact matches and I'm still 
getting no results.  The fact that there are not errors and all other author 
searching and browsing is working is just vexing me.

Hi Terry,

I've found the Item Mapper author browse to be extremely unforgiving in
its application.  I took a look at the way that it works, and it
performs an author browse on precisely the free text string that you
enter into the box, and if it does not find exact matches it gives you
nothing.  So if you are looking for papers by me, and I am in the author
list as "Jones, R", then "Jones", "Jones R", "Jones, Richard" will all
return no results.  Are you definitely searching for the precise author
name as it appears in metadata?

Alternatives are that the browse indices have not yet been created.  If
you select Browse By Author, and you get no results you will need to
build those indices first.
