Hi,

Very recently we had started using DSpace 1.4.2 & uploaded several 100 documents (mainly PDFs). For every file uploaded, Dspace creates 'something' in assesstore (file system) & also in Database. Our File system & DB were in 2 different servers. Due to unforeseen reasons, we lost the file system, but had the DB only.

As our file system server conked, we could never retrieve anything from the file system stuff; *Now, is it enough if we backup 'assetstore' & DB simultaneously, & put it in a diff file system & restart, so that we get all our data back?
we noticed 'search' & 'upload' folders also?
*

In the documentation,( file:///C:/dspace-1.4.2-source/docs/storage.html#bitstreams ), we read [[ This is because it's better to have a bitstream in storage but not the database (effectively non-existent to DSpace) than a bitstream record in the database but not storage, since people would be able to find the bitstream but not actually get the contents ]]

can anyone pls advice.

What is the difference between Assestore & SRB?

thanks,
gagan
