Thanks to all who replied to point out the news xml. We were using a copy of the DSpace on Vista and the Vista search just doesn't work as well as the XP search, at least with regard to finding text in a file. I also appreciate the tricked-out find and grep commands which we will use on our Linux instance from now on.
