This issue has been resolved. Ant 1.7.1 must be installed.
Documentation should be updated to reflect this. The 1.5.2
documentation has 1.6.2 or higher. It should
now require 1.7.1. Would the Documentation gods please update?

There are a few other targets (copy_configs_keep, which depends on
prepare_configs) that use globmapper like this in 1.5.2’s build.xml
as well.
Ant 1.6.2 is pretty old so I’m guessing that the support for mappers
nested inside <copy>, etc. isn’t there yet – upgrading to 1.6.5 or
higher might be the first thing to try.
