we're looking to implement DSpace 1.8.2 at our site with a non-default PID service, e.g. EPIC. The documentation says we need not use CNRI's Handle system, but are free to change the code to use something different. Now, is there any other possibility than patching the DSpace code? If not, what pieces of code would we have to change to make it fit our needs?
