Hi Indu,

perhaps you need to setgit the sendmail binary so that the dspace user
could run it. Also make sure dspace is in the same (secondary) group
as the sendmail binary.

This may be what you're encountering:

If that doesn't work, send the output of these commands:
ls -l /usr/sbin/sendmail
id dspace
