Hi Parul, the complete backup procedure is described here: https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC3x/Upgrading+From+1.8.x+to+3.x#UpgradingFrom1.8.xto3.x-BackupyourDSpace To restore the database, just execute the sql file. There are also other ways how you can take backup of your DSpace contents (this includes hierarchy, items and bitstreams; doesn't include configuration and customizations), recommended is AIP backup. It is also the easiest for migration of content from one instance to another: https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC3x/AIP+Backup+and+Restore Regards, ~~helix84 Compulsory reading: DSpace Mailing List Etiquette https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACE/Mailing+List+Etiquette ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Master SQL Server Development, Administration, T-SQL, SSAS, SSIS, SSRS and more.
