Hi Matt, don't worry about linkchecker causing any serious load - it checks about 1 link per 10 seconds. You can see the results in dspace.log. You surely saw the pretty thorough documentation [1], so let me just highlight that you can run curation tasks both from the admin UI and from console. Should you want to see what the task actually does, look at its code [2] - it's pretty basic.
