I understand your motivation to refrain from modifying any Java code. Without digging much deeper, I recommend you to ignore (in XSL) the license text as Java inserts it into DRI. Instead, use the XSL document() call to include a license file with DRI tags (same as in news-xmlui.xml). Please notice that those are DRI tags, not HTML tags.
