Hi Rajat,
At PUCRS Repository (DSpace 4.1 JSPUI) we added this functionality by using the
Google Doc Viewer API (free on-line service): https://docs.google.com/viewer
No file needs to be uploaded to any server, it uses the own URL of the file
(PDF, DOC…) in DSpace server (web interface must be accessible via the Internet
to work, hosting on a local server (10.*.*.*.*) will not work).
Access http://repositorio.pucrs.br/dspace/handle/10923/1004?locale=en and then
click on [View Online] button.
We just followed the instructions available on
https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACE/Document+Preview+with+Google+Docs+viewer
and made some little adjustments.
If you want our code, please let me know then I’ll send it to you.
Regards,
Michelangelo

Assunto: [Dspace-tech] Hiding Restricted Search results in Dspace JSPUI 3.x &
Document viewer
Hello,
I am having some challenge when I try to create the feature of Hiding
Restricted Search results in DSpace 3.x (JSPUI). I know that this feature is
available in XMLUI but I wanted to find a solution so that I becomes available
in JSPUI.
Also, is it possible to create a Document viewer (not using Scribd / Google
drive) so that we can use a viewer functionality to view the document in Dspace
itself. I cannot allow the docs to be uploaded to any server.
Any help in this regard would be appreciated! Thanks!
Regards,
Rajat Gupta
