Hi, The exact hard drives listed in those details are just *examples*. We probably should just remove those examples, as they will always be outdated.
The most important specifications with regards to DSpace are the amount of storage and memory you need. * Storage Space: You need enough storage to store all the content you plan to put into DSpace. In the FAQ we recommend: * 20GB minimum * 200GB for a mid-range repository * More storage if you have more than 200GB worth of files * Memory * 2GB minimum * 4GB for a mid-range repository * 8GB or more for a high end repository * Generally speaking, the more activity in your repository (i.e. more downloads/visits), the more memory you will need. * CPU/Processor * Any modern processor should be fine. Again though, for high-end repositories, you may want a higher end CPU. I hope that helps! - Tim On 1/4/2015 10:01 PM, divya batra wrote: > Helix84 > We are just starting to create a new digital repository from the scratch. > So we want to use those hardware system which remain viable for at least > for 5-6 year. those 2012 specification are 3 yrs old and current even better > processors RAM HDD are available.
