Hi Monica,
If you change metadata on database you need reindex solr, i recomend you
use metadata batch editing (
https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC4x/Batch+Metadata+Editing).
Export all data, open csv file remove all columns except id and
dc.contributor.author,
add column dc.creator move all values from dc.contributor.author to dc.creator.
Reimport csv file.
