I'm with the same trouble. We're upgrading to 5.2 from 1.6 and today I
found when I enter to "issued date" and "title" I obtain results, but
when I use the alphabet to search results by this first letter I obtain
0 results. Searching into solr logs I found the query is like this:
I found this issue reviewing git commits from 5.1 to 5.2:

This bugfix is justly adding this character before the ":" character. In
this issue seems the developers are working on (
https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS-2602) so wait few days for the fix.
