Hello,
*The DCAT call is a place where both technical and non-technical people are
very welcome!*
The next DCAT meeting is tomorrow, July 14th, 15:00 UTC/GMT - 11:00 EDT
https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/cmtygp/DCAT+Meeting+July+2015
This meeting will be devoted to the first goal in the DSpace 2015-2018
strategic plan for technology
<https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACE/DSpace+2015-18+Strategic+Plan+-+Technology>
:
*DSpace will focus on the fundamentals of the modern "Institutional
Repository" use case.*
We look very much forward to hear from the call participants what they
consider the fundamentals, or in other words, the "core" of the modern IR
use case.
Preparing for the call
While anyone is welcome to attend the call without preparation, here are
just a few pointers to related materials in case you want more context.
- Revisit the Use Case Analysis
<https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACE/Use+Case+Analysis> and look
at the categories and identified actors.
- Back in April
<https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/cmtygp/DCAT+Meeting+april+2015>, we
took a stab at a similar question, attempting to get to a prioritized list
of features. Discussing priority all the way down on the level of
individual features and use cases was, in hindsight, probably too detailed.
- Write out your thoughts and arguments prior to the call as a comment
on the meeting page
<https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/cmtygp/DCAT+Meeting+July+2015>.
We hope many of you can join us for the call, but if not, please post your
comments and feedback on the meeting's wiki page
<https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/cmtygp/DCAT+Meeting+May+2015>.
Looking forward to a great discussion,
Maureen Walsh and Bram Luyten
DCAT Co-Chairs
