Hello Deborah,
this configurable for each field in the input forms see
https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC3x/Submission+User+Interface
You can add an element <visibility> to each field which is either set to
submit - visible only during submission
workflow - visible only during workflow
e.g.
<field>
<dc-schema>SCHEMA</dc-schema>
<dc-element>ELEMENT</dc-element>
<dc-qualifier>QUALIFIER</dc-qualifier>
<repeatable>true</repeatable>
<label>SOME LABEL</label>
<input-type>THE TYPE</input-type>
<hint>
HINT DISPLAYED TO THE USER
</hint>
<required></required>
<visibility>[workflow or submit]</visibility>
</field>
The late visibility when the item is in archive and available to the
public is defined by other settings in dspace.cfg.
Hope this helps
Claudia
