I need to add address whitelist/blacklist management feature to this
very nice PHP web ui by Michael Thompson:
Better get a good MTA and auxiliaries and let them do this for you.
The choice has been done for me already: Exim, and it's not going to
change, but there's nothing MTA can do if antispam filter decides it's
spam, can it?
I don't think this actually falls into realm of MTA. You don't say to
people "if you want whitelist smth in SpamAssassin, make MTA do
whitelisting instead of SA", do you?
I was an Exim mailadmin for years, then I moved to Postfix. Just as Marc
Merlin and Tom Kistner write plugins for Exim, different people write
plugins for Postfix - perhaps most notably Mark Martinec with his
amavisd-new.
amavisd-new, together with switching between as many Postfix smtpd
listeners as you want (we use 3, but not for whitelisting), could give
you the whitelisting you want - without ever touching SpamAssassin
(heaven forbid ;) I won't go into Postfix any further, one man's meat is
an other man's poison.
Best,
