Local Mail Exchangers: Used for source address tracking, tells DSPAM
which mail exchangers are local and therefore should be ignored in the
Received: header when tracking the source of an email. Note: you should
use the address of the host as appears between brackets [ ] in the
Received header.
Checking a few of my emails, I have a few received headers, such as:
1. from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by mail.fixertec.net
(Postfix) with SMTP id ACF4FCC87BA for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>;
Mon, 19 Feb 2007 14:40:07 -0500 (EST)
2. ...outside server...
3. ...outside server...
4. from mail.fixertec.net [146.145.114.26] by mail3.someserver.com
with SMTP; Mon, 19 Feb 2007 14:38:53 -0500
mail.fixertec.net is the hostname of my server, but 127.0.0.1 is also my
server, so should I add the hostname to LocalMX? If so, what is the
correct LocalMX format for having two addresses listed (comma-separated?)
