MH,
By edge do you mean etch? I have dspam 3.6.8 running on several debian 4.0 (etch) boxes. Dspam on Debian is fairly straight forward. There are packages.deb for the components if you want to go that route. Depending on your preferences and skills you might prefer to build dspam yourself. I have done both, but on my next box will swing back to compiling myself again and not using the Debian packages for: dspam, dspam-webfrontend, or libdspam7-drv-mysql.

Yes. Debian etch. I would tend to use the Debian packages (they are
outdated i know),
cause another user reported On a Debian Etch box this (he compiled from
sources):
I am not experienced enough, to deal with such things ...

DSpam 3.8.0. Since today morning I get this in my Log.

dspam[31447]: No such feature 'chained'

So if someone knows what this probably means?

The only things I would mention to you are regarding dspam as an application and not anything to do with the OS/platform, so it is OT. Basically though, here are some of my general thoughts on dspam. Read the documentation very *carefully*. Some of the docs are sparse, but I haven't seen many mistakes (actually very few, Jonz is a good writer unlike many FOSS maintainers), so every word is important. Look at lots of examples on the dspam wiki, this list, and in the package docs. Dspam rocks and WORKS!

Good to know. Since most manpages i think inadequate ...

If you come across any specific problems or questions with dspam or dspam:debian then feel free to post your questions.

Sean

Thx alot
MH

btw:
sorry for the PM, Sean

Hello everyone!

I wonder if there are some caveats, any tipps (howtos) someone could give on DSPAM
with Debian edge, or is it straightforward.

thx for any help
