Extra to the below, I've noticed another issue - observe how simply
running dspam_stats to list all users causes it to create a new user.
 I am using debian's package, v3.6.8

dspam:/var/spool/dspam/data# ls -la
drwxrwx--- 3 dspam dspam 4096 2008-12-24 22:44 mydomain.com

dspam:/var/spool/dspam/data# dspam_stats
ian TP: 0 TN: 0 FP: 0 FN: 0 SC: 0 NC: 0

dspam:/var/spool/dspam/data# ls -la
drwxr-x--- 3 root root 4096 2008-12-27 13:24 local
drwxrwx--- 3 dspam dspam 4096 2008-12-24 22:44 mydomain.com

dspam:/var/spool/dspam/data# ls -la local/
drwxr-x--- 2 root root 4096 2008-12-27 13:24 ian
