I'd be careful with that. In DD mode, D-Star uses QPSK which requires linear amplifiers, so you may be able to get more power but at the expense of a distorted signal, and therefore losing out overall. DV mode uses GMSK which can happily pass through class C amplifiers, probably one of the reasons why they chose it. Jonathan G4KLX
