Evans, Not quite right. This isn't PCM where there's a direct correlation with the audio frequency and transmitted frequency. The CODEC is a multi-band CODEC where it looks at a number of slices of the audio spectrum, not just 2.5 KHz. For example, since little intelligibility is below 60 Hz, that probable isn't looked at.
