I'm not an expert in these areas so I'm not sure how this would work - though I 
was also wondering about it.   It would be an interesting reason for people to 
become OpenSolaris & VirtualBox customers/users even if they aren't developing 
or analyzing applications for Solaris.

It seems like the solaris kernel would need to be aware of individual processes 
in VirtualBox, unless you simply wanted to run a dtrace script on the 
virtualbox process itself (but this would be limited in many ways other than 
the fact that you can't look at individual guest OS processes).  Unfortunately, 
I don't think VirtualBox exposes process information - I'm guessing this would 
have to be implemented through the guest additions in an OS specific manner 
(correct me if I'm wrong).

What operating systems are you interested in using as guests in this way?
