There was no posting with regard to the informal LUG meeting because there was very little discussed about Linux at that meeting, we discuss the following, as far as I can remember, if anyone else can remember what we talked about then fee free to append to my list :) - Why do we call it this an informal lug meeting when we hardly discuss linux, why don't we call it something else ? Ahh so that we can get a drinking pass from our respective wives / girlfriends. (This could have have been a dan and peter only discussion, I am not quite sure). - Dans Purchase of an Apple powerbook and why he has not put linux on it yet - Brads replacement battery, and his hardware vendor encoding battery life to the laptop BIOS. - Richard writing scripts on his lotus Notes server and breaking the 92fm mail server in the process. the competition in question has now been moved to a gmail account, to prevent richard from doing it again ;) - Brad's search for a portable air conditioner so he can move his server(s) ??? into the maids room and out of the spare room. - Model Airplanes - a general discussion on why we all want them, and how we have seen many crash and burn. - Port blocking by TCOM in Emaar Property on people with static ip addresses. - How Peter started working for Novell :) - Oracle's machine for the creeking jumping competition this friday - Pirates of Silicon Valley - Now on DVD, and we should schedule the next informal LUG at Brads house to watch it. - Informal LUGS - Damn fine idea, shame no one shows up to them, we shall organise them twice a month in order to attract more people. - Where is Jayram and why is he not at the this weeks meeting ? - Formal LUG meetings, are we ever going to have another one ? - Why is it that Habib always has to order 2 meals when he comes here, and why does he always pick silly meals which he knows would not feed a rabbit. - Jaegermeister - down it Habib :) you know that you love the tasty liqourish goodness. - early Microsoft posters / magazine covers with Bill on the cover with a cheesy grin. - how Microsoft & Apple started. * both of the above were tangents from the pirates of silicon valley discussion.* - I think that about covers it... did I miss anything guys. daN -- _____________________________________________________________ " They that can give up liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
