Hi Ive noticed that previously dlug members have shared links to sites containing downloadable pdf copies of O'Reilly and other books. I understand that to make and disseminate such copies is illegal, however is it legal to possess such a copy as a result of downloading it?
I just looked inside one of my Oreilly books (I bought it!) and it says nothing about copying. All it states is 'all rights reserved' which doesnt mean much to me. Another of my non-oreilly books states that it cannot be reproduced, but again nothing about downloading a copy. Then of course there are books that appear online for review prior to printing - so one could legitimately download the review edition. I know i could google for an answer, but perhaps one of you has researched the issue already? --- cGull ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> Get Bzzzy!
