Mejo, Mainpine boards are certified to work with Hylafax. Mainpine Rockforce Duo+ (2 ports) Quattro+ (4 ports) and Octo+ (8 ports) are supported and work without a hitch with Hylafax.
Regarding number of modems, they are limited by the number of PCI slots in your machine. If your machine has 4 PCI slots and you go in for 8 port cards, you can have upto 32 ports in a machine.
