Dear dubailu's,

I've been lurking on this group for many months,
although I have yet
to attend a DubaiLUG meeting -- sorry.

The company I work for is actively seeking to hire one
or two
developers, and a networking specialist.

As I am currently one the main developers, I've been
charged with
sorting through a stack of CVs to filter suitable
candidates -- I'm
finding lots with .NET experience, but few or none
with *nix
experience.

Although our product runs on Win32 and Solaris (as
well as Linux and
FreeBSD), I myself do everything in linux, so I would
vastly prefer to
work with similar-minded people if possible.

I you, or someone you know, is perhaps interested in
picking up some
work, whether part-time or fulltime, please drop me an
email at :
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Oh yeah, our software stack currently looks like this:
Linux + MySQL + J2EE (1.5) + Hibernate + Tomcat +
Cocoon
...with a few ancillary open-source "helper" packages
sprinkled around
here and there

Our prototype stuff looks like:
RubyOnRails, and sometimes Zope

And our network stack is freeradius + chillispot

Other skills which always come in handy (and are fun
to learn!)
Perl
Python
(...uh, I guess it wouldn't be fair to leave out PHP,
although I
myself am not such a huge fan)

Lastly, you wouldn't need to be an expert in every
layer of our stack
in order to be valuable to us -- any layer where you
think you might
be able to help would be more interesting that most of
these CVs I'm
currently going through. In fact, we are _happy_ to
provide some level
of training to a person who is keen to work with
opensource software.

I hope to catch one of the meetings soon, but will be
unfortunately
traveling again during the second week of June, so it
may be a while
before I get a chance to meet some of you.

Please reply to pete.farmer_at_gmail.com if
interested.

Best,
Pete Farmer
