G'day mobsters... So, this is a bugger.. or not :)
The meeting tomorrow night is still a go ahead, as it's Habib's only night out for months to come.. BUT! (what now I hear you cry?) Dan can't make tomorrow evenings little bash, so to appease him (and get some more beer into me), we are going to stage a re-run of tomorrow nights proceedings (sans Habib) on the 3rd of Oct. "What does this mean to us?" I hear you cry... It means that for the following 2 tuesdays on or about 7pm at Scarlets, you will find yours truly propping up the bar eagerly awaiting the arrival of anyone interesting to talk to, or failing that gabbing on to some 5'8" blonde from Kreblakistan about the price of Cheese in Hong Kong during a wet Thursdays rush hour. (which apparently is about the time the value of Cheese hits its peak I believe) People interested in Linux, BSD or anything non-windows in fact, are more than welcome to turn up, have a meal and engage in some socialization outside of the range of their monitors an keyboards, while interacting with some people marginally more interesting to talk to than ALICE. On a non-linux, but somewhat Opensource note, I participate (if you could call it that) in the Rockbox project. http://www.rockbox.org and I was collared the other day by one of the lads who noticed my ip address lay in the middle east. Apparently Rockbox are looking for a native arabic speaker to assist in the translation of rockbox into arabic (as it supports almost every other known language). I run rockbox on my iRiver h340 and it's the ducks nuts.. even runs on iPod these days.
