Hi Peter
   I also faced some problem with Fc6, but not related
to apache . which  I would like to share.
   I had vmware-server-console , after doing yum
update , it had removed it . then again after applying
a patch from vmware only I was able to work on it.
         I guess u will be able to start apache , if u
can get the default conf files , overwrite the
existing one with the default conf files and try to
restart
